There are things that you can do to help move your house in a market that is a bit slow right now. Staging for a better home sale is one the most important things you can do. There are many people who think that a some paint here and there, general clean-up, and minor repairs are all that is needed for a home staging.

However, home staging has come along so far that it is now an art, with the home stager being the artist and your home as the canvas. A painting on a canvas is nothing but an illusion of light playing against dark, and the master artist uses his/her artistry to bring forth emotions and feelings that will try to get you to connect with his/her artwork.

Well, a home-stager will try to accomplish the same things that any other artist tries to accomplish. The more artistic and experienced the home-stager is, the better your house will show when people come to view it. There are, of course, tricks of the trade that just about anyone can figure out like a fresh bowl of fruit on the kitchen table, some bread or cookies baking in the oven, mirrors, lamps and all sorts of other things that are used. The secret is knowing when and where to use the things and why they are used.

An experienced home-stager will place the bowl of fruit in just the right place, with the fruit arranged in a certain manner, and it will all be done in order to try to create feelings and emotions in the people looking at your home, and it is really that simple. However, the trick lies in knowing how to build illusions so that you can create the right feelings. If you manage to create the wrong emotions, you will have lost a potential sale. However, when your home-stager creates the right feelings, emotions, and perceptions, you may receive more bids than you have in the past six months.

Your home will indeed feel like a home to others and it will not be just another house they will be viewing. Buyers will actually make up their minds whether they like your house within the first 8 seconds of having seen it. That means that the outside has to get the right treatment so that the buyer will actually make it inside.

By the way, try not to be there for the viewing because people actually feel like they are intruding if they know that the owners are home. They are made uncomfortable by the presence of the owners and they will want to leave much sooner than you would like them to leave.

If the home staging has been done correctly, you will not need to be there for anything because the house will show itself off in the best way possible. After all, you are paying so that the house will look its best, and it will probably cost you anywhere from $500 to $5000 to have a staging done, so allow the artist to work his/her magic, and you just might get the results you want.
