How fun it would be making splashes and plunges right there at your own backyard. Surely, it would be fun sunbathing with your family and friends. This sounds great. However, there are many fantastic choices that you could go for and you might be confused on what to select. As a pool buyer, what should you do? Here are some hints that could be of help to a shopper and buyer like you.

So, take a deep breath and be prepared to dive into the different types of pools and see which one is appropriate for your home.

Above-ground pool is the cheapest type. It is also a pool that is movable. You can take it with you if you move to a new place, you can give it to your friend or sell it. You can also leave it in your house for the future owners. They are also easy to install and there are wide selections like aluminum, resin or steel sidings. This type also comes in several sizes and shapes and there are varied decorations of wall patterns and decking options. If you only have a small yard, then this would be the best for your home.

The in-ground type is a pool which is a permanent structure. This adds value to your property because it enhances your backyard landscape. It is more costly compared to above-ground, but it is a permanent home addition. They add beauty as well as value to your home. And when the time comes that you decide to sell your house, having an in-ground pool will have the potential of increasing the appeal of your home to buyers. This comes in any size or shape you want depending on local codes. Under this type, there are three varieties which include concrete, vinyl-liner and fiberglass.

A fiberglass pool is made by a factory which is set up in one piece in your yard when excavation is done. This kind looks like a huge bathtub that is more costly than the concrete one. The construction would take about two weeks. Its important feature is being shock absorbent. It flexes up to two feet. This is something you should consider especially if you live in an earthquake-prone area.

On the other hand, a concrete pool is built depending on your preferences with the guidance of your pool-builder. As to its initial installation, it is cheaper than the fiberglass type. In constructing it, it undergoes several stages which include pool lay-outing and excavation, setting up steel, plumbing and equipment, application of gunite or shotcrete, installation of tile and coping and finally the installation of interior finishing.

Vinyl-liner is the third type of in-ground pool which is provided to the installer in kit form. When excavation is done, the panel walls are fastened together which is then supported with a concrete footing. The vinyl-liner is put on the surface of the pool covering the floor and paneled walls. To connect it to the top of the panel, a vinyl rib is used. The construction would usually take one to three weeks.

Certainly, there are many choices and options to select from for the type of pool you want for your home. There are also a lot of sizes and designs. So, if you are ready to dive in then take the plunge and enjoy.
