Everyone has the opportunity to become wealthy from investing in real estate. The old admonition holds true for real estate as well as all other investments. The sooner you get started, the more you have to gain as you get older. Most young people don’t consider real estate as an investment. The young people of today have the best opportunity to retire wealthy if they make the right moves now. Whether buying a first time home or for an investment, the sooner one gets started, the better off in the long term.

Everyone goes through a learning curve. It is best to learn early on, so you can profit later on. Sometimes with a property, there is work to do. Whether it is painting, flooring, yard work, etc., if one can do this work on their own without hiring someone, there is much money to be saved. As a general rule, the ideal time to do physical work is when you are young, and full of energy. The longer you wait, not only your physical strength, but also your ambition may start to dissipate. So it makes sense physically and mentally to start when you are young.

Youth, especially, is on your side financially. The sooner that you get started, the sooner you will start to make money that you can put back into other properties and start to increase the process and multiply your earnings. Time is the X factor when it comes to making money. The longer you wait to get started, the more you will lose the advantage you have that only time can give you. Whenever you hear of someone who has become successful, you can be sure that they have paid their dues, over a period of time. Sometimes you may hear of someone who became hugely successful early on, but that is more the exception than the rule.

Start early in life with the end in mind. Set your goal. You can retire when you are 40 years old or when you are 70 years or anywhere in between. The choice is yours. As you get older, you have fewer choices. You have to give your money time to work for you. When you plant a seed, you cannot expect to see crops grow the next day. Plant your money tree early on. The seed is your desire. Fertilize it with ambition, knowledge, education, and determination. Put together a realistic plan, and get started. You can retire rich from your real estate investments. No doubt about it. If you have the desire, you can do it.

There is no better time than the present. If you are 50, 60, or 70 years old, it is still never too late to start. You may have lost your wonderful advantage of youth and a long term time horizon, but real estate investing is still a worthwhile endeavor. If you are older and lack experience, find a young partner with experience. If you are young, and lack experience, find an older partner with experience. If you lack the necessary capital to get started, find a partner with money.
