Here’s the Key ...and a Ferrari

I must say there’s something cooking in Malibu Beach. A home seller has decided to put his house in the market and sweeten up the deal: he’ll leave his Ferrari F40. Michael Garner of Prudential Malibu Realty has spotted the beachfront estate and spread the word through his blog. He writes, “This type of home for sale is much easier than the headaches of the bank owned, REO, short sale type. This 5600 sq.ft.home is located in my neighborhood, so I know it well, and is located in a private, gated canyon with winding streams, oaks trees, and a few minutes walk from the beach. My bet is the house will likely go over the opening bid of $1.9m but someone is still going to get a great deal. I’m guessing the house will sell around $2.8m to $3m. That would be a great buy in my book! The house has ocean views, is surrounded by mature trees on roughly one acre, and even has a guest house”

And yes, the buyer owns the car that was built during Ferrari’s 40th anniversary, hence the name. I’ve never thought that someone can just package a luxury car with a million dollar listing until now. Could it be a sign of desperation from the homeowner? Definitely.

Brandon Swanson of also comments, “The beachfront home is a bargain as well. It sits across the street from a $50 million beach estate and has spectacular, expansive ocean views on half an acre and is less than a minute’s walk from the beach. The home also features a beautiful pool, room to park 13 cars, and comes furnished with Swarovski chandeliers and marble statues.”

So any takers?

Before you do a test drive and oh well, the house showing, keep in mind that it’s not the only house that packs an intriguing freebie. Developers are marketing their supply gluts by offering free furniture and kitchen appliances. On the other hand, high-end sellers also pair the house with antique pieces or artwork from renowned painters and sculptors. An FSBO seller may offer to shoulder the closing costs of the home to lure potential takers.

You can find these irresistible offers if you widen your search. Read the newspaper, your dream house might be advertised. Make it a habit view listing especially multiple listing services. Sooner or later you’ll come across great deals just like a free Ferrari that’s obviously one in a million.
