A media campaign targeting homeowners facing foreclosures and people interested in buying foreclosed properties and Freddie Mac homes for sale has been launched in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The program, called Take Root Milwaukee, aims to provide confidential and authoritative information to home buyers and homeowners facing foreclosure.
Those who are into Milwaukee foreclosure investing, along with property owners facing possible foreclosures, will be the main focus of the Freddie Mac project. It will provide $175,000 to the city to finance billboard and outreach campaigns. According to Freddie Mac officials, the city was chosen primarily because of the existence of the Milwaukee Foreclosure Partnership Initiative, a program launched by Mayor Tom Barrett to address the foreclosure problem in the area.
Barrett’s program involves a number of bank representatives, nonprofit organizations, government agents and real estate brokers and agents. It was launched in June 2009 in an effort to battle the impact of the growing number of cheap houses in Wisconsin which was a direct result of the foreclosure crisis.
Upon learning of the existence of the program, Freddie Mac got in touch with city officials to launch the media campaign which aims to help property owners in trouble and provide assistance to people who are trying to buy Freddie Mac homes for sale and other foreclosed properties. The media campaign’s primary aim is to stabilize neighborhoods in Milwaukee by helping both buyers and homeowners through counseling and information assistance.
According to local officials, a lot of fraudulent companies are pretending to offer help to troubled homeowners and interested home buyers but are only making problems related to foreclosure listings worse. The media campaign plans to change this by providing free and legitimate information and counseling services to those who need them. Information necessary to educate home buyers and homeowners can be found on the Take Root Milwaukee’s official Web site.
Aside from offering important educational information to buyers of foreclosures and Freddie Mac homes for sale and homeowners facing property problems, the Web site will also list events sponsored by banks and other housing market-related agencies designed to educate homeowners and real estate investors and buyers.
