Central Air Conditioning regulate the flow of air inside the home using a centralized system working throughout the house. Lots of homeowners contemplate on whether to install a centralized air conditioning or not. Taking into consideration the advantages and disadvantages of a centralized air conditioner can help one make this one vital decision.

For one thing, adding a centralized air conditioning system will reduce the noise within the house since the air conditioning system is placed outside the home. A lot of room air conditioning systems make a lot of noise especially at night. A centralized air conditioning system, on the other hand, runs quietly as you enjoy the peace and cool feeling within the walls of your home.

This does not mean that it will not generate noise. The good thing about it is that the noise will be outside. So make sure that you tell your contractor to install it far away from any windows or rear doors. Make sure that the contractor will install it far enough also for your neighbors to hear.

With the heat really intensifying, being without a central air conditioning unit will make you feel unpleasant. A centralized air conditioning system does not have to be so big. A contractor can help you decide what kind and how big the unit needed to be added. The contractor generally calculates the right size to make sure that the entire house will be cool.

Although it is easier to install the ducts and other paraphernalia to make a centralized air conditioning unit to work the right way in a house being constructed, it is also not difficult for a house that has no centralized air conditioning unit to have one installed.

Of course, at the first installation, this will cost a lot especially for a house not really designed to have a centralized air conditioning unit. For a house that has duct work previously installed, it will cost an estimated $2,000 to $4,000. But if there is no duct work, setting up an entire duct work will cost a rough $6,000 to $8,000. The cost will actually depend on the size of the house the smaller the house the lower the cost of installation and vice versa. This may sound a lot of money and it is expensive, but considering the effect on the household having a centralized air conditioning will make a big difference on the way they will live in that house. This is not to mention the increase of value to the home.

A room air conditioning unit can provide almost the same service as the central air conditioner can, but since it is limited to the room where it is set up, the comfort it brings is also limited. It might seem that it costs more and that may be right, but in the long run the truth is that a centralized air conditioning unit had a lot of positive aspects. Maintenance is easy and more reasonable. Additionally, it provides relaxation and comfort to everyone in the family.
