Roofing in Vancouver during the rainy winter

In Vancouver when the rains come for the nine months every year folks out there start to rush through the spring and summer trying to jump the line so that their roof can be replaced first. The truth is that roofing companies through out Vancouver work all year round. It is quite obvious that if your entire roof was removed while there was water falling out of the sky that your roof would leak.

If you stood outside all day in the winter in Vancouver you would notice that water doesn't actually fall out of the sky all day. There are periods of say two to three hours where it is overcast but not raining, this is the time period and opportunity for the roofer to remove and replace one hundred square feet of roofing. This process is slower than if your roof had to be replaced in the summer but it does guarantee a leak free installation.

The underlay that are used today by reputable roofing companies in Vancouver are inorganic and waterproof making the roofing process a lot easier in the winter. I have seen homes without roofs on with just the underlay keep a home dry right through a rain filled night. I do not recommend doing this especially on windy evenings but with a fabric or rubber underlay your roof should be waterproof when it is halfway done.

Home Owners in Vancouver must remember that a roofer has to work all year round to stay in business and have created ways in doing so. Although it might seem insane, roofing companies don't shut down unless a strong snow fall has occurred.
