Pools come in various shapes, forms, types and sizes. If you plan to have a pool in your home, make sure to determine your purpose for putting one so you can choose the right one for you. Make a thorough research about the various types of pools so you can learn about them more.

The following are different types of pools and their uses:

  1. Diving Pool—as what its name implies, is meant for diving. Therefore, this pool should really be deep. Aside from that, you should also attach a diving board to it. Normally, this kind of pool is not recommended for residential homes since this is risky for children, they could trip off to the very deep pool and drown.

  2. Lap Pool— is the best pool for exercise. This pool can be narrow and is good for training and exercise. If you are a swimmer, then this is the right kind of pool for you. You could build one in your home. Typically, swimmers have one in their homes so they do not have to go out of their way to train.

  3. Infinity Pool—this is terrific for adding drama to your home. This kind of pool is perfect for landscape because it can boost the aesthetic value of your home. This kind of pool is more popular than other kinds of pools because it has a different illusion.

  4. Wading Pool—this is perfect for kids. This pool is shallow and safer for kids to swim and play around. Nevertheless, as a parent, you should not take this for granted since this can be quite dangerous for very small children. You can opt to put some inflatable toys for them to play with.

  5. Play Pool—is wonderful for those who love water sports. This pool is usually just five feet deep and allows players to move easily and comfortably.

  6. Floating Pool—may seem like an unmovable and sturdy structure but can actually float like a boat in the surrounding ground water. When empty, the ground water pressure can push the structure to the ground.

  7. Above-ground pools are the cheapest option and the easiest to build. Nevertheless, this type of pool is less sturdy compared to other designs and less attractive. It is less permanent, which is a good thing because it can be disassembled and can be brought to a new location.

  8. Fiberglass pools—made of fibreglass-reinforced plastic molded into a basin form. This pool is usually surrounded by a concrete deck structure.

  9. Gunite Pools—the most popular pool designs in America. This type of pool can have exposed aggregate, tile or fibreglass finishes. This pool is extremely durable and can be built to any size or shape.
