Here are some high-impact, low budget tricks you can use to bring some pizzazz to your home decorating project.

Painting a room is still the most inexpensive decorating tip out there. You can create a totally new "mood" in your space by deciding on a different paint color than the one you have become jaded to over the months, or years, in some cases. When choosing paint colors, consider the orientation of the room to take maximum advantage of the amount of light coming in, in proportion to the color intensity of the paint you plan to use.

Create visual separation of the different spaces in your home. For example, use a coordinating color in the dining room to make it look like it is not a continuation of the living room. This trick works well when you have an open plan space. Area rugs can also help keep this visual distinction between the different areas in your home.

Update your furnishings to freshen up the look. For instance, if you have a chandelier hanging over your dining table that is a bit dated, consider buying a lamp shade that you can layer over the chandelier, for that shabby chic look. This will be far more cost-effective than buying an entirely new chandelier.

Window coverings can also help give your pace a new look. In an area where the colors are mostly light and neutral, injecting a darker, grounding color, such as with a pair of dark-colored curtains on either wide of a large window can "frame" the look of the space, without going into major expense.

Mirrors are an interesting way to open up the space and create visual interest by expanding the space, and by reflecting interesting objects within the room. For example, if you have a group of green plants or foliage in one corner, and you wished you had more but prefer not to buy more, simply hang a mirror somewhere in front of the plant collection to create a reflection on the opposite side of the room.
If you find that in addition to the above tips and tricks, you still need to add a few important pieces of furniture to make the space more livable and functional, consider sourcing the products you need at an online home decorators outlet.
