San Pedro is one of the many municipalities within the Marbella area. From an excellent beachfront to a small buzzing town with plenty of Tapas bars and shops, this area provides a perfect place for a family home. The town itself has a charming Andalucian style square, complete with picturesque church, where all the locals congregate and children play.

The area is also undergoing significant infrastructural change, with a bypass currently being constructed to allow easy access for those wishing to travel west along the coast road. This work will also pedestrianize the busy bypass area, creating a much safer passage for those walking from the town centre to the beach. This work, when completed will certainly add value to properties within the area and make San Pedro one of the most family friendly areas on the entire coast.

The beach has some of the best apartment developments that the area has to offer, so for long term rental, this area is ideal for the entire family. The newest apartment project on the seafront is the Casablanca development. A breath of fresh air, the design is different to the formulaic look of the traditional white washed, moorish look. With gardens that give residents direct access to the beach and spacious, unusually laid out apartments, with quirky large terraces this is an interesting and very well located place to choose a rental.

Almost directly next to Casablanca, there is the more rustic Bahia de Alcantara. With its terracotta finish and more ornate gardens, this development is very close to the sea. Las Adelfas is very similar in external style to Bahia de Alcantara, but a much larger, expansive urbanization. Many apartments here offer reasonably good sea views and the pool areas are well thought out and busy over the summer months.

Traveling East from Las Adelfas, along the beach, there is a large gap between developments, with large patches of undeveloped land. Towards the end of the best area you have several other developments such as Noray and Castiglione, both of which have been constructed for some time and have mature well kept garden areas.

The area of San Pedro beach provides a high suitable location for families. The beach, although a little difficult to walk into the sea without suitable protection for your feet, does offer friendly bars. Walking along the well maintained promenade of an evening would be an enjoyable family experience and you will find yourself surrounded by fewer expats, giving local residents enjoy the San Pedro beach, possibly even more than holiday makers do.
