Tracy Hunnicutt, a resident in Detroit, was very devastated as she was evicted by her landlord due to foreclosure.

The 42-year old lady said she pays the rent promptly and in spite of having a written contract, she and her daughter were forced to leave the house on Tuesday.

Sen. Hansen Clarke passed a bill weeks ago stating that renters should be given 90 days before they get evicted. In addition, it will allow them to stay in the house before the contract expires.

The state senator asked for the presence of Hunnicutt and others who were evicted so they can share to others what happened to them. That way, the legislators will be forced to take some action as there are around 45,000 foreclosed homes in the city of Detroit.

According to Clarke, that kind of situation is a problem.

In addition, he said that properties should be kept occupied to prevent theft of items, which could be scrapped or resold.

The senator admitted that he still needs enough support for the bill to push through Legislature with ease; otherwise it is going to be really late for the people who got evicted.

Lashawn Brown was well aware that her landlord has financial problems, but she was still surprised when the house she was renting was filed as foreclosed. She really wanted to stay in her house so she decided to pay $370 to a certain company to do something for her.

Unfortunately for Brown, the company was a scam and is now ignoring her calls.

Clarke had previously presented a proposed law for the court judge to disapprove Michigan foreclosures. He thinks it may startle lenders and just make arrangements with property owners to avoid the issue to end up in court.

Hunnicutt and other women are either living with their families, friends or relatives. They may have to live with the inconvenience until there is something that could be done with foreclosures.
