Not everyone can buy a property on the Mediterranean obviously but if you are looking for a place to invest, retire, raise a family, have a holiday home or just get away from it all then Cyprus is a good bet. Cyprus is on the eastern side of the Mediterranean and is a gateway to many other countries. It’s location which attracts millions of tourist due to the sunshine and great weather has not been exploited in any way by the tourists or the locals. Even though the number of visitors per year is high, in reality it is a well kept secret.

Considering that Cyprus gets approximately two million tourists a year, it is not a large figure when you look at the population of two neighbouring countries. Egypt has a population of 83 million, Turkey has 74 million, then add 500 million EU citizens, and also the popularity of Cyprus with Russians which all make Cyprus a place with enormous potential especially for investors. There is a limited number of properties and land but millions of potential buyers.

Many people don’t realize the untapped potential Cyprus holds. Since it is so centrally located between Europe and the Middle East it makes a fantastic mid-point for many travelers. It’s location also gives Cyprus the title of the Sunshine state just like Florida is for the U.S. being the warmest European climate year round, something that northern Europeans will surely enjoy during the long cold winter months.

Some naysayers claim Cyprus has become a “concrete jungle” but I strongly disagree. There are areas that have built up a lot in comparison to 15 years ago. However, 15 years ago homes and apartments were very sparse. Many people still enjoy the old time way of life and traditions which can still be found in most villages that surround the main cities of Paphos, Larnaca, Limassol and Nicosia. If you look online you may only find information on the most built up and tourist areas of Cyprus, but look into more traditional Cypriot villages, many of which have stunning views. You can find some modernized and stunning homes but, step outside and a much different way of life goes on - a relaxed and slow paced tempo.

Cyprus offers so much already such as cultural events, music, entertainment, nature, beauty and a fantastic, safe and affordable lifestyle. Cyprus is still an infant in its development, but with the main infrastructure working well and always being improved upon Cyprus is really a choice not to be overlooked when considering investment properties, a place to raise a family or to retire.
