There is a lot to like about living in an urban condo. It’s a lifestyle in and of itself, and more than likely you’ll be close to restaurants and nightlife that other people travel miles to enjoy. You’re probably close to work, and you can get nearly anywhere you need to go by riding a bike or walking, or hopping into public transportation like a bus or light rail. You don’t have much to worry about in the way of maintenance, and taking a trip or vacation is as easy as, well, making the decision to take a trip or vacation.
In addition, there are some extra amenities you might find in your condo itself, or your condo building, depending on where you live.
Pool Pools are common amenities, and some condo buildings have both an indoor and outdoor pool. Many also have hot tubs and, likewise, you may find them inside and outside.
Workout Room If your condo unit has a workout room, you can save yourself on the fees associated with joining a gym. Some units have a few treadmills and weight machines, while others have enough equipment to make a gym fanatic blush.
Sauna What better way to wind down and loosen your muscles after a workout? Sitting in a sauna for 10 or 20 minutes also will open our pores, get you sweating, and help your body detoxify.
Sport Courts Basketball courts and tennis courts are the two types of courts most often found in a condo unit. Organizing tennis matches or basketball games can be a good way to get to know your neighbors better.
Garage Some condo owners have no desire to own a car, given their proximity to public transportation. But for those who do, and want to avoid parking their car on the street, choosing a condo unit with garage facilities is a no-brainer. Some units have underground garages, and some are even heated. Depending on the type of garage, you may be able to store some of your stuff there, too.
Wood Floors Not only do wood floors look appealing, they’re relatively easy to maintain and keep clean. They don’t trap dust and if you’ve got a pet, they accumulate fur.
Air Conditioning If you live in a warm climate, the summer can be nearly unbearable if you don’t have an air conditioner. You don’t have to keep your condo cold, but many people enjoy the option to keep their condo at a steady temperature, even as the heat rises outside.
Laundry You can do your laundry at most condo units, but the question is whether you’ve got common facilities for everyone, or whether your condo has a washer and dryer (or at least hook-ups for the appliances). Many people appreciate the convenience of having an in-unit washer and dryer. After all, isn’t convenience one of the main reasons for considering a condo?
