The Beaufort Country Association of Realtors released sales statistics for the first quarter of 2009 and the winners seem to be ERA Evergreen and Lowcountry Real Estate. While ERA Evergreen top closed sales, Lowcountry Real Estate was the leader in sales volume. Leaders in these two categories are especially big winners as 2009 appears, at least so far, to weaker than the dismal year of 2008.

ERA Evergreen proved an impressive 2008 was no fluke by posting the highest completed sales for the first quarter of 2009. ERA agents closed a total of 34 deals, which is 9% higher than the next closest competitor, Brokers Real Estate, Inc. at 31. Lowcountry finished 12% below ERA at 30 closings. ERA, which post the 7th closed sale in 2007, ascended to the number two in closed sales and volume in 2008. "We could not be happier with our agents and their relentless efforts to help make our ERA Evergreen, Beaufort's real estate leader.", says ERA Broker-in-Charge, Laura Blencoe.

With larger transactions due to a long standing relationship with the Beaufort real estate community, Lowcountry Real Estate led all agencies with the highest sales volume in the first quarter of 2009. While finishing forth on the completed sales list, LCR recovered what was lost in closings by simply closing larger deals. Lowcountry Real Estate is composed of native Beaufortonians whose families have helped make what the town is today. These generational connections have, and continue to give the company an advantage.

Analyzing the past year and a quarter of Beaufort Multiple Listing Service statistics paints a clear picture that ERA Evergreen and Lowcountry Real Estate are market leaders when dealing with Beaufort SC Real Estate. If these trends continue, look for each agency to continue market growth no matter what the 2009 market brings.
