Minneapolis is the largest city in the state of Minnesota and the bigger half of the Twin Cities. It's a highly educated city, having tied with Seattle for the most literate city in the country in 2008. Not just a city of readers though, Minneapolis is also known as a strikingly green city full of parks and cyclists.

Minneapolis experiences cold dry winters and pleasantly warm summers. While the winter temperatures dip to 3 F on average, making for some rather chilly days, the summer average is a reasonable 85 F. The city only sees an annual precipitation of under 30 inches, with most of the rain falling in the summer months.

Minneapolis plays host to five Fortune 500 companies and and a variety of Fortune 1000 companies including Target, Xcel Energy, PepsiAmericas, and IBM.

Many people in the Minneapolis area commute by either public transportation of by bicycle. The city is second in the US for bicycle commuters, many who ride to work all year round. The city has provided them with many miles of bike lanes and trails to make this a more feasable option.

Minneapolis also boasts more parkland per capita than any other city of its size in the US. The city reportedly has the best park system in America, with 17% of the land in the city dedicated to parks. 6% of the city is taken up by water as well with the river and twelve lakes that residents and visitors can enjoy. The city parks are a great place to job or cycle.

For those who prefer their entertainment in the form of shopping, the Twin Cities has the Mall of America which is the second largest mall in North America, second only to the West Edmonton Mall in Alberta, Canada. The Mall of America has 520 shops and contains the largest indoor theme park in the US, an aquarium, and the Lego Imagination Center.

For those into the arts, Minneapolis has a ton of live theatre, an annual film festival, Fringe festival, the Minnesota Orchestra Sommerfest, and is home to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
