Make Your Credit Score Higher!

I want to make my credit score higher! These words are often uttered by people who just got turned down for a loan, insurance or even a job because they have bad credit! They often wonder what they can do to turn their bad credit around quickly. Listed below you will see a brief self credit repair plan that you can use to start boosting your credit scores right now!

How To Make Your Credit Score Higher

The very first thing that you should do is get a copy of a tri merged credit report. A tri merged credit report will list all three credit reporting bureaus and also the information that each one is reporting about you. Next you will need to find the items on the report that are causing your credit scores to drop. The common items that will cause this are:

  • Late Payments

  • Bankruptcies

  • Over Limit Accounts

  • Accounts With Balances Over 50% Of The Limit

  • Charged Off Accounts

  • Judgments

  • Back Child Support

Once you have made a list of the items that are pulling your FICO score down it's time to deal with them and get your scores increased.

For Accounts With High Balances

To deal with accounts that are over the limit or are over 50% of the account limit you really have three options to choose from.

  • Pay Them Down

  • Get a Credit Line Increase To Drop The Ratio

  • Break Up The Balance Between Numerous Accounts.

If you can make one of these options work for you then your credit scores will go up once your balance to limit ration drops below the 50% range. The increase can be as much as 50 points and in some cases more.

Dealing With Negative Information

Dealing with negative information is pretty straight forward and easy. All you really need to do is draft a credit dispute letter that states your name, social security number and the account number you are disputing. you must also list a reason for disputing the account.

The reason you are disputing the account is very critical, do not just deny that you own the account but list a specific reason such as the balance is wrong, you never paid late, etc. These reasons are harder for the original creditor to prove and by Federal law they must prove you wrong not the other way around!

How it works is that you send the dispute letters to the major credit score reporting agencies. The agencies will then contact the original creditors and ask them to verify the information they are reporting. If they cannot or choose not to investigate your claims then the item will be removed from your credit report and your score will increase.
