Stockton foreclosure homes are becoming popular among first-time buyers and investors in California. Buyers are enticed by the very low prices of foreclosure properties and the wide array of choices.

It was in 1980 that the San Joaquin County experienced very low housing prices. It used to be that real estate agents would take potential buyers from one house to another to give them the opportunity to inspect the properties and narrow their prospects.

Fast forward to 2009 and agents still sell houses with median price amounting to $165,000. However, this time, they are able to save a lot of money because they do not have to drive prospective clients from one house for sale to another.

Industry experts said that many homebuyers right now come to the market knowing what they want because they have researched pertinent information on the Internet. They browse online foreclosure properties on areas where they want to buy, see the pictures, know the prices and house features right there at the comfort of their own homes or offices.

And if they have narrowed their property choices and decided what properties interest them to merit an inspection, that is when they decide to do an inspection of Stockton foreclosure homes.

A recent market survey showed that the Internet has become the easiest and fastest way for prospective buyers to access foreclosure property listings. Data from the survey showed that 84 percent of property buyers prefer to shop online, with majority of them spending more than one month browsing the listings before contacting a real estate agent.

The survey also indicated that online real estate is also the preferred choice of buyers over its print real estate. Data showed that 13 percent of prospective buyers still read magazine or newspaper advertisements when looking for foreclosure homes to buy.

Buyers said that user comments about foreclosure houses have helped them a lot in choosing and making a decision to buy a property.

According to the survey, popular real estate Web sites are those that include photographs, virtual tours and home value estimates.

Industry experts advise buyers to be careful over their choice of real estate Web sites and to always seek for a second opinion.
