The Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program (RRAP) is an initiative that was set up in 1973 by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) to help low-income homeowners make repairs that would bring their properties up to an adequate standard of living. This program covers repairs for heating systems, electrical issues, plumbing, and structural problems.
Rhode Island has expanded the coverage of distribution of an $80 million federal aid for distressed homeowners in the state. The program was initially provided to troubled homeowners in Providence. Now it covers the entire state.
