As home builder associations nationwide are making more of an effort to produce environment friendly housing, so too has the Home Builders Association of Northern California. The HBANC met with Ignacio De La Fuente, Oakland City Council President, to create the city’s first residential Green Building legislation.
With lenders being required to exert more effort to negotiate with troubled borrowers, experts are wondering if the new legislation will indeed reduce foreclosures in the state.
Two lawmakers pledge to continue the battle to prevent increasing foreclosures. However, the mortgage banking industry, some Republicans and the White House are not too happy with their proposed measures.
